Hair

J-Dogg's roommate, Jed (don't worry, this doesn't mean I'm hanging out with J-Dogg), recently recited an original monologue called “it’s manly to have chest and back hair, why should I have to wax or shave it?” Although a reasonable amount of chest hair doesn't bother me at all, I found this spiel particularly interesting since this performance was merely minutes after Jed had regaled our group with a tale of a woman who had a “gnarly bush.” Now, I’m in favor maintaining a well-groomed area, but I’m curious why women are suddenly (within the past five years or so) expected to get rid of ALL of our pubic hair simply because our boyfriends and/or husbands grew up on Internet porn. Guys are so used to seeing women without pubic hair that it has become the gold standard of personal grooming. While I'm generally supportive of the inventions in the realm of waxing and hair removal - especially if it opens the door to more oral sex - I feel like I'm beginning to resemble a Chihuahua. Uncool. I can NOT be the only one who notices that pubic hair definitely prevents chaffing. Call me crazy, but could it be that the hair is there for a reason?
